dwp - design worldwide partnership is a worldwide integrated design company who utilised MultiPanel’s lightweight and waterproof features to incorporate it into the design element of a spiral staircase for a residential development.

Dwp’s requirements were simple: “We require an external privacy screen using vertical slats placed adjacent to each other with a 5-10mm gap. This privacy screen wraps around an external spiral staircase, and may be structurally supported by the staircase. Preferably the slats will be mounted off minimal steel framing attached to the spiral and also on one end to the wall on the right.”
Dwp specified MultiPanel for the project after realising it was the perfect material for the job.

The spiral staircase did not allow for regular products as they were too heavy and/or not waterproof, so MultiPanel was the ideal solution for their needs. Being so lightweight, MultiPanel was able to be supported with minimal steel framing to maximise the design effect. Whilst being waterproof, MultiPanel is able to withstand the rain without any associated moisture problems that can commonly occur with other building materials.
