Hyundai are venturing into the yacht building market with the development of the 42ft ASAN being the first boat built in the Hyundai range.

Multipanel was the preferred material of choice and was used quite extensively in the interior fitout of the yacht. Jeremy Spears from Spear Green Design stated that “it was an easy decision to specify MultiPanel. Being 70% lighter than marine ply and 100% waterproof whilst still being similarly priced, made it the preferred choice of material.

When you have a versatile material such as MultiPanel, you are not limited in your design, the material can be used anywhere for virtually any application whether it be wall linings, fridges which act as a good insulator or as a simple material to construct furniture and cabinets in the fitout phase. It really is quite a unique product.”

During the construction phase of Hyundai’s first yacht, MultiPanel sent over its own experienced Fabrication Specialist, David Russo to oversee the project. The team at Hyundai Yachts adapted quickly to the new lightweight and versatile material, helping them save many hours in the production process.
