Why this petition matters

Started by Annerley ACTION

The community of Annerley is cut in half by Ipswich Road. Every day, more than 50,000 vehicles travel along the major arterial through the Annerley shopping strip. Vehicles regularly run red lights, speed, drive aggressively and otherwise endanger the lives and well-being of vulnerable users of the street. Drivers have a bad time too; the Annerley section of Ipswich Road was recently named the worst for traffic accidents in Brisbane.

We want ACTION!

We want local government to commit to undertaking a metropolitan traffic planning study investigating the safety and efficiency of Ipswich Road. We want support and funding for traffic management and landscaping solutions to improve the area's safety and amenity, including upgrades at intersections identified as problems by the survey and meeting: Annerley Junction, Venner Rd/Waterton St and Chardon’s Corner.

We want ACTION - and an Ipswich Road that's safe for EVERYONE!
