Last month I published the Autumn/Winter
style piece busting 12 myths of dressing a curvy figure for the colder months. This created
a flurry of bookings & activity, inspiring many to become a little more creative and passionate about
making the most of who they are today!
One of the many gorgeous
ladies I had the pleasure of working with this month is the vivacious Deborah. Deb has a very exciting
day job (she is Manager & Publicist to Shane
Jacobson - I don't know about you guys, but I just loved Kenny!). Deb is on a personal journey
of weightloss and self discovery and she contacted me to assist with styling her figure during her transition.
After completing the usual round of "getting to know you and understanding
your goals" questions given to all styling clients, and receiving some photos of Deb's body shape, I was
able to work within Deb's limited timeframe and source garments to bring to her in her hotel room in the
city. It was quite a challenge to source the garments first, as usually I have the luxury of spending
more time with the client visiting stores and seeing them in the flesh as we style and shop. I really
enjoyed the challenge and was thrilled when 5 out of the 6 outfits I produced for Deb to try were all
in the "Yes!" pile, the 6th one was in the "No!" pile because it was a size too big!!! Not bad if
I do say so myself.
Deb is a lot of fun and she really enjoyed
the opportunity to try on a variety of different looks, fabrics and styles compared to what she says she
would normally have chosen. I loved watching her bounce around the room getting excited about the
choices and seeing her reaction in the mirror as she realised how the session was empowering her.

Before
Deb is currently a size 14-16 top and a size 22 bottom. We had a lot of fun styling all sorts
of options, but this photo (below) Deb tells me is her favourite outfit. I'd like to thank the wonderful
Julie St Clair, my preferred make-up artist from Style
& Grace who added value to Deb's session by doing a mini-makeover with easy to apply everyday
makeup. The outfit featured here consists of skirt & shirt from My
