Gold Coast Light Rail Construction Update

Progress on the Gold Coast light rail project is surging ahead in Broadbeach. Recent works have concentrated on relocating and upgrading underground services like electricity, sewerage, water mains and telecommunications.

While these upgrades continue, a large portion of rail works have commenced along the Gold Coast Highway from Aubrey Street in the north to Hooker Boulevard in the south. Intense construction works are currently taking place at the intersection of Hooker Boulevard and the Gold Coast Highway. Beneath this intersection are the water main that feeds everything east of the highway and the interstate Telstra communications line, the communications source for the entire eastern seaboard.
