NATIONAL DISABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME (NDIS)
NABS is a Support Provider for the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
If you
have a package that includes interpreting hours, please remember to tell us when you book an interpreter.
If you are attending a meeting with NDIS to assess your needs, you can ask for an interpreter
to be present.

APPOINTMENTS REMINDER
Did you know you can ask NABS to book an interpreter OR
you can ask your medical practice to book an interpreter. It is your choice.
When you know
your appointment details please contact NABS as soon as possible - especially for Specialist appointments.
The more notice you give us, the better chance we have to book an interpreter.

What do you do if you or your health care provider
cancels or changes your appointment?
Tell NABS immediately and NABS will make sure
you, the interpreter and the health care provider know about the cancellation or change.
YOUR INTERPRETER
Did you know:

Interpreters should not make mobile phone calls during appointments.

Interpreters
are booked for all of your appointment. If they tell you they have to leave early, let NABS know.

Interpreters should arrive early. If the interpreter arrives late or after the appointment
has finished, let NABS know.
If you have feedback about your interpreter
or your appointment, please let NABS know. You can complete the online
feedback form or fill out your feedback cards.

NATIONAL DEAFNESS SECTOR SUMMIT
The 8th National Deafness Sector
Summit will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on May 3-4.
