An exciting new era for Gold Coast business began on Tuesday 5 August with the opening of the $38 million Griffith Business School building.

Our 4500 business students now have access to world leading resources including an advanced financial trading centre environment, a dedicated Master of Business Administration teaching suite, technology-rich seminar and public lecture spaces, international conferencing and dialogue facilities and much more.

Alumni drive has great appeal

Such is the excitement surrounding the new headquarters for the Griffith Business School, former students are leading a financial drive to ensure the ongoing development of this industry hub.

The Transforming Business appeal allows alumni and community donors who gift $500 to have their names and graduation details emblazoned on reflective oval plaques in the foyer of the new building.

Griffith Business School has been rated in the top 200 globally in the prestigious 2014 Academic Rankings of World Universities (ARWU).

The result recognises Griffith Business School (GBS) as one of Australia‘s best performing business schools and among the top 2% world-wide.

How Griffith is transforming the business world

The Griffith Business School’s new home at Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus is an architecturally designed, seven-storey, state-of-the-art facility.

Providing world-leading facilities for business education, research and industry collaboration, the $38 million building will be a hub for the University’s 4500 business students on the Gold Coast.

Mr O’ Sullivan, guest of honour at the unveiling of the $38 million new Griffith Business School building at Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus, believes the occasion is another example of the pace of change driving Australia’s sixth largest city and the importance of Griffith University’s role in that process.

Having spent the formative years of his professional career in Brisbane, the Griffith Business School graduate retains fond memories of his time at Griffith.

The Griffith Business School is setting new international standards for teaching and research by providing students with access to the Bloomberg Professional service.

Bloomberg LP is a global leader in business and financial information and its Bloomberg Professional service is a software platform that provides trusted real-time and historical data.

This Gold Coast family of five holds two PhDs, two Masters degrees, a Graduate Certificate, three undergraduate degrees in business, two arts degrees and one in music, surely making them one of Australia’ s most educated families.

Griffith joins forces with AMP

In an Australian first, AMP’ s financial planning academy Horizons, will launch an online Masters program with Griffith University which will allow candidates to gain a Masters of Financial Planning through a flexible program that combines rigorous academic training and practical experience.

In fact, an entirely new suite of online financial planning programs will be unveiled at Griffith in 2015.

The existing Master of Commerce in Financial Planning degree will be replaced by a Master of Financial Planning program suite that also comprises a Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning and Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning to provide flexibility of entry pathways and exit point.

A Master of Finance, and Master of Finance and Investments program will also be offered on-campus across three semesters.
