Opening Times
8am to 6pm Monday to Friday
NABS staff will see your booking when they are in office from 8am to 6pm. Interpreters can be booked for any time.

What's new at NABS

It has been a busy year for NABS.

NABS had lots of bookings over winter. Thank you for your patience.

NABS and NICSS will be closed on the public holidays over Christmas and the New Year. You can see what days the office is closed in this newsletter.

You will also see information on booking reminders, NICSS, NDIS workshops and events.

Booking reminders
The NABS SMS number can only get text. If you want to use your smart phone to take a picture of appointment details, you can email bookings@nabs.org.au. Thank you.
WHAT IS NICSS AND HOW CAN I USE IT?

Do you have a non-medical appointment?

NABS is for private medical appointments.

If you want interpreter for work, financial, education, legal or other appointment or meeting, you can contact NICSS.

NICSS is the National Interpreting and Communication Services. It is not free.

Email bookings@nicss.org.au  for more information.

NABS and NICSS are holding FREE NDIS workshops.

EVENTS - IN THE COMMUNITY
National Week of Deaf People
This year's National Week of Deaf People was held on October 15 to 21.
Hands and Hearts Fair

NABS was a sponsor of the Hands and Hearts Fair in Toowong, Brisbane.

The fair was held on October 22. It had rides, food and stalls.

National Auslan Conference
The National Auslan Conference (NAC) was held in Melbourne on October 14 to 16.
 
It was organised by Deaf Australia and Australian Sign Language Interpreters' Association (ASLIA).

Christmas/New Year closure dates
What days will NABS be closed for Christmas and the New Year?
  • Christmas Day (Dec 25)
  • Boxing Day (Dec 26)
  • Christmas Day holiday* (Dec 27)
  • New Year's Day holiday* (Jan 2, 2017)
*An additional public holiday will be added when Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year's Day falls on a weekend.
NABS office hours

Normal office hours will start on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.

NABS Office Hours: 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday
