What's happening at SWSAS...
Welcome to our first update on what is happening in 2018, at 'your very own' local Regional Academy
of Sport.
Firstly, a warm Academy welcome to our new and effervescent Sports Program and Communications
Coordinator, Samantha Scholte.
It would be the greatest of understatements to say we are extremely
busy, with most sports working in overdrive, at training, education and competition sessions.
And, the results have been fantastic. Every day we hear about athletes getting into emerging athlete
programs, school state teams, state teams and junior Australian teams.
Operationally, we have
formed new and exciting 'Gold Medal' level partnerships with the Wests League Club, Campbelltown, Ingleburn
RSL Club, the Walker Corporation and Country Comfort Hunts, Liverpool. We also welcome new 'Silver Medal'
partner Elderton Homes. More about these fine companies soon.
I am proud to say all our amazing
current partners including our 'naming rights partner' the Campbelltown Catholic Club have renewed, demonstrating
their commitment to local youth and their confidence in the Academy, thank you one and all.
The Academy is also proud to announce that each of our four local Council Mayors have agreed to once again
hold a 'Mayoral Civic Reception' in the honour of Academy athletes and its coaching staff, within their
local government area.
This is an amazing recognition of the achievements of Academy athletes
and their support staff members and we thank each Council for its excellent ongoing support.
We must always remember that Academy success is due to the work of many, starting from coaches and support
staff members at the club and school level, through to association and regional supporters.
And, the Academy is proud to be one, but important stepping stone in the development pathway of our local
athletes, in support of their sporting 'Dreams'.
Thank you for your support,
Gerry Knights
