Remarkable Start for 2019
As stated in our February edition this year promises to be one of unparalleled
significance for the South West Sydney Academy of Sport, 'on and off' the playing arena, and for the wider
sport sector of our region.
The south west Sydney region is growing at an unbelievable
rate and sport is becoming more important as a positive adjunct to health and mental wellbeing. And as
a good community citizen, your Academy is committed to doing its part.
I am pleased
to report all 2019 Academy sports programs are up and running smoothly and we are looking forward
to taking over 100 athletes and coaching staff to compete in the 'Your Local Club' Academy Games, to be
held across the Hunter region in early April.
Academy sports not currently identified
in the Academy Games will have their own opportunity to compete in something comparable, as part of their
individual sports program.
IT IS MY PLEASURE to invite all Academy parents, families
and friends to join us and participate in this year's Academy Golf Day, to be held at the beautiful Campbelltown
Golf Club, on Friday 24 May.
Beginners are most welcome and will receive FREE tuition
from our very own golf athletes. So, there is no excuse, not to come and have a great really fun day of
golf, plus lunch, drinks and plenty of laughs - it is an amazing day.
This is our
main fundraiser of the year, so if you cannot make it on the day and have something at home to donate
as a raffle, or auction prize, call us on 4627 7622, we would love to hear from you.
All donors
will be formally recognised.
Yes, everything looks' good for another mind-blowing
year at SWSAS.
Thank you for your support,
Gerry Knights
