NEW Menu and Nutrition Care Audit

Do your menus and nutrition care processes comply with the new Aged Care Quality Standards? Are you confident that you are providing adequate nutrition to your residents? How do you know?

NPA have developed a new audit tool that outlines the nutrition care process according to each of the Aged Care Quality Standards. Our reviews will include:

  • A focus on consumer choice and decision making
  • An assessment of your menu structure and processes for provision of adequate nutrition
  • Audits of the adequacy of serve sizes
  • Review of documentation of nutrition care
  • Review of nutrition and special diet policy and procedures
  • Identification of processes to identify malnutrition risk and nutrition support procedures
  • Identification of how food service integrates into nutrition care

Our comprehensive report will track all recommendations against the Aged Care Quality Standards. We will use best practice and evidence based standards in our assessments.

We will provide a scored assessment of how well your nutrition processes are performing against the standards.

Example only

We can provide services accross Australia but at the present time, a remote audit will be required for all organisations outside of South Australia.

Remote Audits

Whilst it is always preferable to visit your aged care home to conduct a review of menu and nutrition care, in the current environment this may be more difficult.

NPA can provide a remote review, whereby we ask your organisation to:

  • Complete a questionnaire
  • Take photos of meals
  • Measure weights of food and meals

We will conduct a meeting via phone, Skype or Zoom to clarify responses and to explore recommendations for quality improvements.
