Gru is planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. Brisbane Modern: Mid 20th Century Design
An independent publication which explores design, art, architecture and furniture from the mid-twentieth century - "Brisbane Modern" is the brainwave of publisher and creative director, Chris Osborne.

Chris will present an insight into mid-twentieth century design through images of Brisbane's design, art, architectural and cultural history as he talks about the talented champions of modernist design in Brisbane. This session is a must see for those with a passion for mid-twentieth century modernist design.

CPR Awareness

Are you interested in developing practical knowledge and skill in cardiopulmonary resuscitation? This free 90-minute workshop will give you the confidence to help keep someone alive using CPR while the ambulance is on its way.

Brookfield Show
The annual Brookfield Show is being held at the Brookfield Showgrounds. This quaint country show has everything from arts, crafts and live music to 
woodchopping and showjumping.  There is also plenty to keep the family amused with Sideshow Alley, nightly fireworks and Robinson's Family Circus.

Disaster Relief Concert - "Bach to Beatles"
A concert to assist folk in Queensland and Christchurch is being held at the Kenmore Anglican Church. The musical concert entitled "Bach to Beatles" will feature Dr Robert Boughen on the new Allen organ as well as local instrumentalists. Tickets at the door - $25, $15 concession, $50 family ticket including afternoon tea.

National Simultaneous Storytime
This year, 'Feathers for Phoebe' by Rod Clement will be the feature story for the 2011 National simultaneous storytime.

Join Phoebe, the plain grey bird, as she searches for ways to make new friends using an array of brightly coloured costumes. This colourful and creative tale will be enjoyed by thousands of children at libraries across Australia. Ideal for children aged 2-5 years.

Last Friday Club

Local historian and State Library of Queensland volunteer, Jean Stewart, has written many journal articles and books including Kenmore Park: the land, the house and the people and Scribblers: A Ladies Literary Society in Brisbane. Jean will join the Last Friday club to talk about the history of the Kenmore area, followed by a light morning tea.
