HELP SAVE KENMORE HIGH
CHAPLAINCY SERVICE
"The Chaplaincy program at Kenmore State High School
provides much-needed support for those students who are trying to cope with very challenging, personal
problems. The support they confidentially receive from skilled, well-trained chaplains is vitally
important to their welfare. Chaplaincy at Kenmore High is strongly supported by both the school
administration and the Parents' and Citizens' Association. Chaplaincy is NOT about providing religious
education that is foisted on students"
These are not my words but a direct quote from the Executive Principal Mr John Fitzgerald.

Government funding provides about a quarter of the financial need
and local churches and the P&C provide about another quarter. However the major proportion of
funding has to come from private (tax-deductible) donations from individuals and businesses.
Please join me and many others at the fundraising dinner on Friday 27 March 2015 at
the Carroll Community Centre, Moggill Road, OLR. The special guest will be Phil Smith who many will
know from his years on ABC radio and TV. He is a great story teller with an amazing story to tell.
There is NO CHARGE for this dinner but donations
will be requested to cover the cost of the dinner and to ensure the continuation of this valued Chaplaincy
Service. For further information contact Lyle Schuntner on 3378 5229 or contact the High School.
MT CROSBY SCHOOL NOTCHES UP 10 YEARS OF GIVING
The teachers and families at the Mt Crosby State School are to
be thanked and applauded for their community work over the past 10 years which has seen many vehicle loads
of food donated to the Rosewood Community Centre every Christmas. Ipswich Councillor David Palke
presented the school with the Ipswich City Council Thumbs Up Local Hero Award at a recent parade in recognition
of their efforts. Their contribution is particularly significant as the Centre is not in the local
area and it is wonderful to see the Mt Crosby community helping out in a small community like Rosewood.
Pictured
with Cr Palke are Cr de Wit, Community Centre co-ordinator Donna Hanlon with Deputy Principal June Riley
and the School Captains.

In the last 18 months with the assistance of generous donations, the Buy a Bale
fundraising organisation has provided over $2 million dollars of hay or direct cash donations in drought
assistance to worthy Australians.
To help remind Australians
of the issues our farmers face, the Buy a Bale Day has been created so we can think of their farmers each
year and support them through Buy a Bale.

BUY A BALE DAY 25 MARCH 2015
The plan is to ask Australians to donate just 50,000 small bales at $20 each. This will help push
through the upcoming winter and provide support across the worst hit areas of QLD and NSW.
Join in the month long campaign this March and make a difference to the lives of farming families.
There are posters, bumper stickers, flyers and everything you need should you wish to hold an event.
To register for a Buy a Bale Fundraising kit or make a donation,
