The Minister for Transport and Main Roads has recently
contacted the Lord Mayor about the Queensland Government state-wide review of road speed limits. The review
aims to simplify the speed limit setting process in Queensland and apply speed limits consistently across
the state to make them easier to understand for all road users. They want to identify roads where
the speed limit may need to be increased or decreased as well as roads with confusing or inconsistent
speed limits and stretches of road with too many speed zone changes.
For more information about the review and to submit an on-line submission please visit http://tmr.qld.gov.au/SpeedLimitReview.
Feedback can also be mailed to “Speed Limit Review, PO Box 673, FORTITUDE VALLEY QLD
4006”. All submissions are due by midnight on Friday, 13 September 2013.
