Jennifer graduated from Griffith in July 2011 with a double degree in Human Resource Management

New Centre grapples with funding retirement

of Australian SharePoint Professionals, Mr Tim Timchur thrilled guests with his presentation on big data
for business productivity.
Tim broke down the idea of big data and explored the key drivers for
increased data collection and the applications appropriate for personal and business data analysis. Tim
gave current examples from varied industries including farming, retail, banking, and air conditioning.

Advisory Group, Mr David Morgan hosted almost 100 Griffith Business School alumni and friends at an exclusive
building preview event in the new business building at the Gold Coast.
The event featured small
group tours of the building, and a presentation from John Thong, Wilson Architects, on the development
of the building design.

to succeed: IQ vs human abilities

Warren
Shaw and Denis Hazbic, from Schuhfried Australia, demonstrated human ability training and testing tools
used in various industries to improve staff and student performance.
Guests were interested
to learn that human abilities such as attention, memory, alertness, impulse control, resilience, confidence,
and emotional awareness can play a much larger role in achieving success than the traditional measure
of IQ.
GBS alumnus, Warren, gave examples of human ability training being used to improve work
place efficiency, safety and morale.
