Welcome

Welcome to the March 2016 edition of the NABS/NICSS Deaf Community Newsletter.

Just last month the NABS Contact Centre completed its 250,000th booking - so a big thank you to all our wonderful clients for helping us reach this milestone.

NABS/NICSS recently attended the Our Choice Expo in Geelong, and was also a part of the Australian Deaf Games in Adelaide.

Later this month, NABS/NICSS will be holding a NDIS workshop in Townsville to help the Deaf Community better understand the changes with the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

We hope you have a wonderful Easter. NABS/NICSS offices will be closed on the public holidays.

I have my medical appointment, who books the interpreter?

You can ask NABS to book an interpreter OR you can ask your medical practice to book an interpreter.

When should I/the medical practice contact NABS?

When you know your appointment details you or your medical practice should contact NABS as soon as possible - especially for Specialist appointments.

The more notice you give us the better chance we have to book an interpreter.

What if my appointment is cancelled or changes day/time?

Tell NABS immediately and NABS will make sure you, the interpreter and the health care provider know about the cancellation or change.
