Registrations open for Lasallian Leaders Gathering 2017

Invitations have been sent via email to Lasallian leaders across our District to the next Lasallian Leaders Gathering, which will take place in Wollongong NSW from 26-28 February 2017.

The theme for the event is "Lasallians Without Limits: working for a hopeful future" and it will feature keynote presentations from all four sectors of our District and from Lasallian Works.

The venue for next year's conference is the Novotel in Wollongong with a shuttle bus arranged to transport delegates from Sydney Airport to the venue.

Lasallian Student Leader Seminar-January 2017

Principals are asked to nominate students and have forms sent back to Lasallian Mission Services by Friday 2 December for the annual Lasallian Student Leader Seminar in Sydney from 16-20 January 2017.

This annual gathering of College leaders and prefects from across our District is aimed at equipping them with the skills they need to be good Lasallian leaders, serving their communities in 2017.

The cost of the event per student is $425 which includes accommodation, catering and resources.

Christmas Packs for Women's Refuge NZ

As part of its strong social justice program, students from John Paul College Rotorua have been packing toiletry packs this Christmas for the victims of domestic violence across New Zealand.

FDMC- a talent ground for New Zealand All Blacks

Talented All Blacks star and proud Old Boy of Francis Douglas Memorial College Beauden Barrett has been honoured with the top international award in the sport-World Rugby Player of the Year.

The gifted 25 year old fly-half player first honed his rugby talent in the First XV team at Francis Douglas Memorial College in New Plymouth, alongside two of his siblings who are also members of the All Blacks squad.

Prayer Service for St Solomon

Br Geoffrey Kennewell from the De La Salle Brothers' community in Cronulla, NSW, has prepared an outstanding prayer service to honour our new Lasallian Saint, Brother Solomon.

The service includes carefully-selected readings and prayers to honour the martyred French Brother who was canonised last month.

Br Geoff has also included stained glass images of the new Saint which could be used on prayer cards and booklets.

Lasallian schools, workplaces and Brothers communities will find this an invaluable resource to honour St Solomon
