Dear Lasallians and Friends,

It has been a particularly busy period this week with exciting plans announced by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference to mark the 2018 Year of Youth aimed at celebrating the unique contribution young Catholics make to the life and the future vision of our Church.

You wll also read inspiring stories here from Papua New Guinea as Jubilee Catholic Secondary School receives an award for its high national ranking in recent examinations and from New Zealand with Francis Douglas Memorial College forging stronger ties with its new Twin school in Pakistan- La Salle Boys High School Malkhan Wala.

With our Provincial Office closing for a summer break at the end of this week, this will be our last Lasalian Outlook for 2016.

Awards Night for 2016 Share the Mission Volunteers

St Bede's College Mentone has hosted an End of Year Mass and Awards Night to honour nine Young Lasallians who have made a remarkable contribution in the lives of the marginalised and the disadvantaged this year through the Share the Mission program.

Lasallian Leaders Gathering 2017

Invitations have been sent via email to Lasallian leaders across our District to the next Lasallian Leaders Gathering, which will take place in Wollongong NSW from 26-28 February 2017.

The theme for the event is "Lasallians Without Limits: working for a hopeful future" and it will feature keynote presentations from all four sectors of our District and from Lasallian Works.

The venue for next year's conference is the Novotel in Wollongong with a shuttle bus arranged to transport delegates from Sydney Airport to the venue.

Employment Opportunity at LMC

The Lasallian Mission Council has opened applications for the position of Communications Manager.

The Communications Manager's primary responsibility will be the coordination of communication between the Provincial Office and internal and external stakeholders, brand identity management,digital communications and general public relations.

A Lasallian Perspective on the Year of Mercy

Assistant Director of Formation (Young Lasallians) Ms Amanda Proulx has spoken about the significance of mercy in the spiritual lives of Lasallians in our District as part of a special video presentation which will be promoted across Australia.

Students from Francis Douglas Memorial College in New Plymouth have raised a remarkable 30 thousand (NZ) dollars for Lasallian aid projects across the Asia-Pacific region through Mission Action fundraising this year, with a special focus on helping their new twin school in Faisalabad, Pakistan.
