Membership and Racing calendar

Hello Footbikers and followers.

2017 memberships
Some of you have been asking why we haven't invoiced for last year's membership. Well, we have had a change of direction.  We previously charged for the financial year, but there was a lot more maintenance to maintain that system.
We have now decided to charge membership fees based on the calendar year, and that your membership now includes entry to all local race days. We also decided that rather than try to apportion the 6 months for the transition to the new calendar year structure, we have given all our 2015/2016 members, a complimentary membership for the last 6 months of 2016.
So, the new membership fee structure will be $50pa per Adults, $25pa for Seniors, Students and Children under 18. $100pa Family rate.  These payments are now due and will cover the 2017 calendar year. For first-time new members, only 50% of these fees are payable if you sign up after the 1st July. The first time $15 admin fee still applies.
New Membership benefits
For local race days, members will pay nothing. Non-members will pay $15 for Adults, $10 for Seniors Students and Children under 18 and $40 for families.

Pink 100 best chance to do 100km on a Footbike
If you have ever thought of doing 100km on a Footbike, or you have just thought "there is no way..", then read on.  On our website you will notice that there is a "Century Club" page.  This is where we record those people who have done 100km in one day on a Footbike. Jo Hassan has had a goal to join this elite club for a few years now, and she has decided that this is going to be the year, and she wants you to join her.  We understand that this is a big step, and that's why we have set up a training schedule to build towards the "Pink 100" on the 24th September. The reason we are calling it the Pink 100 is that Jo's business PinkWise is going to be an event sponsor.  We have picked a nice 25km circuit here in Brisbane, which we will do 4 times. You are invited to take up the challenge to do the full Pink 100 challenge with her, or help support Jo and crew by doing 1 or 2 laps with her.  By the way 2 laps puts you into the half century club. We already have 4 people who have decided to use this event to make it onto the Century Club list, and the more the merrier.  You'll be able to set your own pace, as speed is not an issue. If you are from outside Brisbane, then that's no issue.  All you need to do is pick a circuit that you can use locally, and virtually train with us to build up towards doing a 100km on the 24th September.
So, if you are now wondering if getting your name into the Footbike Century Club was possible, then give me a call, and we can talk about the training for the event.
We are also looking at the option of raising some funds for Heart Kids as part of the event, but before we can register the event as a fundraiser, we would need enough sponsorship to cover the $800 Public Liability insurance they require us to take out! If anyone has any ideas here, then please let me know.

New Treasurer
We are looking for a volunteer that can help us as Treasurer for the AFA.  They will be responsible for keeping a full record of all the AFA's income and expenditure, and reporting to the Committee every 2nd month.  This role does not require attendance at the committee meetings, but you would be welcome if you did. We can organise to read out the reports, or we can Skype, Facetime or similar, if you are from outside Brisbane, and wanted to join in.  Our current treasurer needs to step back from this role by the end of April. Please let me know if you are interested in coming on board.  By the way, we will welcome new committee members if you are keen to join us.
