Welcome to 2020, a new year, a new decade. Hope everyone
celebrated their New Year the way they wanted to. Lyn and I, went camping, and thoroughly enjoyed some
time out, but like you all, had to return too soon. So, it's back to kicking again, and here are the next
few weeks for you, plus the dates of the next 2 upcoming fundraising BBQ's for The Australian Footbike
Association (AFA)
Sat 18th Jan 6am 25km
Bat run, Starting at Bright St Kangaroo Point, just down from the Story Bridge Hotel. Parking
should be available on Bright St, or on McDonald St.) From here we will head out to South Brisbane,
Coorparoo and on to Bulimba. We'll then catch a ferry across to Teneriffe and come back through
New Farm and the Botanical Gardens and then over the Goodwill Bridge to Kangaroo Point for Brekkie.
Bring you Go-card or cash for the ferry.
Monday 20th Jan - Bunning BBQ
fundraiser Volunteers required to help raise funds for the AFA shifts 6.30am till 12pm 10.30am till 3pm
- 12pm till 4.30pm at Bunnings Stafford. Please let me know which ones you can help with.
Sat 25th Jan 6am Toombul to Boondall. 24km
out to Boondall along the new Gateway Motorway Bike path, and then back via the Boondall wetlands, or
18km From Toombul to the Nudgee offramp and back via the Nudgee golf
course.
Sun 2nd Feb 6am 23km Sandgate
to Deagon via Boondall. Meet in the Carpark opposite Doug's Cafe on Flinders St at the corner of Second
Ave in Sandgate. Out via Shorncliffe Boondall and Fitzgibbon and back via the new Deagon to Redcliffe
bike path. Coffee and/or brunch afterwards at Sandgate
Sun 2nd Feb 10am
Have-a-go Sandgate towards Brighton Meet in the carpark opposite Dougs
Café as per the earlier kick. Come and try a Kickbike or join us for some help with technique.
Great for first timers. We will probably kick between 5 and 10km. Please RSVP on this one, so that I know
who needs to borrow a Kickbike.
