month in, and another list of events for the next 5 weeks, including dates of the next State Champs event
and the next fundraising BBQ for The Australian Footbike Association (AFA)
Sat 8th
Feb 6am 24km St Lucia University a challenging kick from
Kangaroo point to St Lucia, across the Green bridge and return via Dutton park and West End. A shorter
and much easier and flatter option of 21km is to catch a ferry from St Lucia to West End. Bring your go
Card. Meet at Bright St Kangaroo point, just down from the Story Bridge Hotel. Parking should be available
on Bright St, or on McDonald St. Meet back together for Breakfast or coffee at Story Bridge Hotel.
Sat 15th Feb 6am Sandgate to Woody Point. This is an out and back course, so you
can turn around at any distance you want. Meet in the Carpark opposite Doug's Cafe on Flinders St at the
corner of Second Ave in Sandgate. Out via Brighton and Hornibrook Bridge and return. Meet up for Coffee
and/or brunch afterwards at Sandgate.
Monday 17th Feb - Bunning BBQ fundraiser
Volunteers required to help raise funds for the AFA at Bunnings Stafford shifts 6.30am till 12pm 1 needed

Redcliffe Train line Urban Rail trail. Start at Mango Hill Train station off Halpine St Mango Hill To
Kippa Ring and return 13km, To Rothwell return 6.2km To Mango Hill East and return 3km Mango Hill to Kippa
Ring and then Petrie return 25km. Coffee afterwards at Mango Hill

Sun 8th March 6am - 25km
Bat run, seeing as it was cancelled last month due to rain. Starting at Bright St Kangaroo Point,
just down from the Story Bridge Hotel. Parking should be available on Bright St, or on McDonald
St.) From here we will head out to South Brisbane, Coorparoo and on to Bulimba. We'll then
catch a ferry across to Teneriffe and come back through New Farm and the Botanical Gardens and then over
the Goodwill Bridge to Kangaroo Point for Brekkie. Bring you Go-card or cash for the ferry.

Sunday 15th Mar 11am QLD State Footbike
Champs The AFA is hosting the Qld State Footbike Champs. Being held at Nundah Criterium circuit
on Sunday 15th March 2 distances 1.2km time trial, and 10.8km criterium. Racing starts at 11am so
you'll need to be there from 10am.
