From the Pro Vice Chancellor

David GrantI am delighted to be joining the Griffith community this month, and would like to take a moment to introduce myself to you all.

I am honoured to be the next Pro Vice Chancellor (Business) at Griffith, building on a distinguished history of business education and scholarship. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to lead such an outstanding group of staff, students and graduates who are so clearly passionate about their School and who remain committed to its continuing success.

As PVC I will be seeking to engage with all our stakeholders, including alumni, so as to build a business school community that delivers an outstanding student learning experience, produces high impact research, is regionally, nationally and globally connected and which allows us to deploy our academic expertise in ways that add real world value across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.

Thank you for your ongoing support of Griffith Business School. I believe that you, our alumni, have a pivotal role to play in its development as a provider of world class business education for the dynamic Asia-Pacific region. The most successful business schools around the world are all characterised by their ongoing cultivation of strong and committed alumni networks. And Griffith is no exception. We recognise that you are important brand ambassadors for Griffith, with experiences that speak to the next generation of business school students.

Many of you are future employers of our graduates, and as such, are able to offer valuable insight into the current and emerging needs of the sectors you represent. Moreover, your perspectives and experience are used to inform and enrich our curriculum. You play an important role in nurturing current students through mentoring and internship opportunities and, by bringing you, as business innovators and decision makers into the classroom, we are able to inspire and educate our students in ways that help them fulfil their greatest ambitions for themselves, their future employers and their communities.

I will continue to support and actively encourage the GBS Alumni Network to deliver a comprehensive program of events and activities that add value to your Griffith education. I also look forward to meeting many of you at alumni events during the coming year and to working with you in order to leverage the tremendous goodwill and support that you continue to show GBS.

Best wishes,
David

Professor David Grant
Pro Vice Chancellor (Business)
