Client Night - Email Newsletters - David Bateson

Bloomtools South Brisbane Client Seminar Night

How to retain existing clients, sell them new services, acquire new clients and raise your profile by sending a regular email newsletter

Sending regular emails is one of the most cost effective marketing techniques

Designing and launching a new website is really just the beginning. Once you have a website you need to find

ways to drive prospective customers to your site, and one of the most effective ways to do this is using email

marketing - specifically email newsletters or 'updates'.

Many businesses are wary of using email marketing, either because they do not know what to say, or they are

worried that if they send an email to their contact list, recipients will think that the email is SPAM. However, SPAM

is defined as 'unwanted' email - if your email is informative, interesting and engaging, very few people will regard it as SPAM.

Very successful businesses know how effective email marketing is, both in generating sales and retaining customers.

Surveys conducted in 2009 found that:

* 62% of Australians trust advice contained in emails signed up for when deciding what to buy (beaten only
by personal recommendation, editorial and consumer opinions posted online)

* 50% said they're more likely to buy products from companies who send them email, whether their purchases
are online or at a place of business. - Epsilon "Branding Survey"

The biggest obstacles for businesses that would like to send a regular email update is lack of time to write and a concern that the content will not be 'interesting' enough or well written enough. It's not normally the technology that is the problem, but occasionally it can be.
